Partnerships

Tredive unge fra Mellemøsten, Nordafrika og Danmark mødes den 11. – 17. november til DUFs partnerskabsseminar i Casablanca, Marokko.

30 young people from the Middel east, Nord Africa and Denmark attended the Danish Youth Councils (DUF) partnership seminar in Casablanca, Morocco 11.-17. November 2008

We have spend the last week developing our partnerships, planning for the future and strengthing our friendships. You can read much more about the seminar on DUFs webpages www.duf.dk

SCYDK was represented by Lotte and Ann-Katrine from the international committee working on the project “Youth voluntarism and Advocacy on violence in the family”  together  with our Jordanian partner organisation WE Centre who was represented by Mahmoud and Nabeel.

Kafak - as in High Five situation.

Mahmoud expressed his graditued for our partnership in this way: “I’m really happy in this partnership with your Organization. On the institutional level, you have a really distinguished organization and as I promised I will invest all my efforts to twin our two organizations and make use of your experiences in establishing my organization. On the personal level you were amazing and wonderful in the way you dealt with me, with Nabeel and even with my wife when we met in Amman and later in the Casablanca . I learnt a lot from you and I will keep in touch with you and continue to learn from you. I would love also to express my admiration to your commitment, time management, and your hard work under the big pressure.

SCYDK was also represented by Mia, project manager and Stephanie, our Youth Leader in Cairo – from the project “street children also have rights!” between APHRA in Cairo and SCYDK.

The girls and Frederik from DUF

Unfortunatly the group was one man short. Being a young man who have not done his military duty makes it hard to travel out of Egypt – Omar was held back and had to stay be behind. However, the girls made big plans for the future and we all look forward to a visit from the Egyptians in Denmark in spring.

It was very fruitful for us to have this time and training together with each other and our partners and to share experiences with the other youth organisations working under the umbrella of DUFs MENA-DK Pool.
